Despite an incredibly half-baked story, 'Becky' is a great showcase for its two lead performances. It's an unlikely mash-up of 'John Wick'-style violence and 'Home Alone' hijinks, one that's best enjoyed when common sense is left at the door. If only its writing and plot were as well done as its gore. - Ashley Teresa Read Ashley's full article... https://www.maketheswitch.com.au/article/review-becky-bloody-fun-with-untapped-potential
Becky is a campy, over-the-top revenge flick that’s surprisingly fun. The premise of a little girl outsmarting and taking down a group of dangerous criminals might seem ridiculous, and yeah, there are plenty of moments where logic takes a backseat, but it works. Becky’s resourcefulness and sheer determination make her escape and revenge satisfying to watch. The movie leans into its absurdity in all the right ways, with scenes that had me shaking my head but still enjoying every second. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is part of the charm. Sure, some parts are far-fetched, but hey, it’s a movie you just go with it. Overall, Becky delivers on what it promises: a wild, entertaining ride that keeps you hooked, even if it bends reality a little too much. Definitely one I’d rewatch when I’m in the mood for some fun, campy revenge
